These are the areas Cincinnati needs to address.
The Cincinnati Bengals (4-5) are getting closer to being in contention despite some glaring holes on the team.
With Joe Burrow having a career season and Tee Higgins possibly on his way out, now’s the time to make a move.
So, what are the positions the Bengals need to improve most?
Defensive line
Cincinnati needs both another pass rusher opposite Trey Hendrickson and someone who can generate pressure from the middle of the line. Oh, and being able to stop the run would be nice too.
Adding to the need for more d-line help was BJ Hill leaving Sunday’s game with a rib injury and being quickly ruled out. It’s the second time he’s been injured this season.
New York Giants edge rusher Azeez Ojulari is a potential option, as are Carolina Panthers edge Jadeveon Clowney, and the New Orleans Saints’ Chase Young.
Defensive tackles who could make sense are Sebastian Joseph-Day of the Tennessee Titans and Dalvin Tomlinson of the Cleveland Browns.
Cornerback
The Bengals don’t have a shutdown corner right now. Adding one before the deadline is a must if they want to be able to keep up with the best QBs in the postseason. This position simply doesn’t have enough firepower following the season-ending injury to Dax Hill. But even with Hill, the secondary was rarely up to par with the competition.
One potential target could be Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Jack Jones, who picked off Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and ran it to the house in Week 9.

Other potential options are Panthers corner Jaycee Horn, Tre’Davious White of the Los Angeles Rams, and Marshon Lattimore of the Saints.
Running back
Chase Brown had a great game against the Raiders. But he was also the only non-QB to run the ball. That isn’t sustainable.
The Bengals could use a running back who can replace Zack Moss’s workload after he suffered a neck injury that could land him on IR. Another running back could also provide Burrow with protection in the passing game.

Some running backs who could be available are Travis Etienne of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson of the Miami Dolphins, and Miles Sanders of the Panthers.
One free agent the Bengals could look into is Boston Scott, who is now healthy and will begin working out for teams.
