The Cincinnati Bengals are at a crossroads as they enter the 2025 off-season. They are coming off back-to-back disappointing seasons in which they missed the playoffs. Add the other-worldly numbers from Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Trey Hendrickson in 2024 and you have a team with little room for error in free agency and the NFL Draft in Green Bay. The orange and black also have several players they would love to have back, headlined by Tee Higgins and important decisions will have to be made to build their future under Burrow. Let’s examine three players the front office may target in free agency.
3 Potential Cincinnati Bengals Free Agent Signings
Teven Jenkins
The interior of the Bengals’ offensive line was brutal last season and the area where the majority of the pressure came from on Burrow. With the struggles of Alex Cappa at right guard and a possible cap casualty, Jenkins would be a solid addition to fill this void and fit in nicely in Cincinnati.
Jenkins has played in 45 games with 38 starts since being drafted in the second round by the Chicago Bears out of Oklahoma State University in 2021. He moves well, is of good size at 6’6″, and weighs 320 pounds. Jenkins played his best football in 2024 and ranked 13th among 77 qualifying guards by PFF, making it three years in a row he’s been above the 14 best in PFF grading. The Bengals would be wise to give Jenkins an honest look if the price is right.
Camryn Bynum
The Bengals’ secondary struggled mightily with communication last season which cost them dearly in several one-score losses. Camryn Bynum from the Minnesota Vikings is a young and upcoming player who would be a welcome fit in Cincinnati’s backend.
Bynum is a smart player with good quickness who uses these tools to his advantage to win. He has a knack for being around the ball and has played in 65 games with eight interceptions under the watchful eye of defensive coordinator Brian Flores. Bynum could be the type of player that reaches the next level on a second contract and his reasonable compensation could be attractive to the Bengals.
Milton Williams
For many teams, the absolute prize in free agency is Super Bowl Champion and defensive tackle Milton Williams from the Philadelphia Eagles. Williams, like Jenkins and Bynum, is a four-year veteran and starter. He’s an absolute beast in Philly and fits the Bengals well in a position of desperate need even with the additions of Kris Jenkins Jr., and McKinnley Jackson in 2024.
Williams was a game-wrecker in the Super Bowl and the hallmark of his play is consistency. His motor and ability to push the pocket are also great and he’d fit in beautifully in the rugged AFC North. Williams will be looking for a significant raise in free agency and Cincinnati should strongly consider adding an immediate impact player to bolster Al Golden’s defense in 2025 and beyond.
