Here’s a fun one — the Cincinnati Bengals could again benefit from the NFL changing up its helmet rules.
The Bengals already did so once, pouncing on the ability to have the “White Tiger” alternate helmets.
Now, the NFL just revealed that the league has expanded its uniform policy to allow teams to feature a third helmet.
Under the new rules, the Bengals would need notify the league of a third helmet design by May 1, 2024 in order to use it for the 2025 season while meeting the following stipulations, per NFL.com’s Coral Smith:
The second and third helmets, also known as “alternate color helmets,” can only be worn with one of the club’s authorized optional uniforms (classic, alternate and/or color rush). In addition, if either alternate color helmet is paired with a classic uniform, the helmet colors and designs must be historically compatible.
Naturally, Bengals fans were very excited about this idea and many shared interesting designs.
