The Cincinnati Bengals will keep a key name in the front office for the 2025 season.
Trey Brown, Bengals senior executive, was a finalist for the general manager job with the New York Jets. Over the weekend, the Jets went with Darren Mougey.
Brown had two interviews with the Jets this offseason and, just last year, turned down a request for an interview with the New England Patriots.

Promoted in 2022 under Duke Tobin (unofficially Cincinnati’s general manager), Brown is effectively the assistant general manager and one of the hottest names on the market annually now.
The fact that other teams have identified Brown as a key part of the Bengals’ operation says a lot about his value. If and when he does leave, due to a new addition to the NFL’s Rooney Rule pertaining to minority hires, the Bengals would receive two third-round compensatory picks.
For now, the Bengals front office remains intact for another year ahead of a key draft for the franchise.
