The Cincinnati Bengals had some interesting jersey number possibilities for the 2024 draft class.
Chief among those, of course, was the idea that wide receiver Jermaine Burton would take the No. 3, finishing the fan-requested “513” area code at wideout alongside Ja’Marr Chase (1) and Tee Higgins (5).
But Burton and/or the team decided to go a different route once news of the jersey numbers went public. Otherwise, besides the No. 28 of Joe Mixon now going to a defensive player, the jersey number news mostly follows the expected results.
