Bengals to host Nebraska defensive tackle Ty Robinson on pre-draft visit

The Bengals are bringing in another possible draft target along the defensive line.

The Cincinnati Bengals are filling out their big board as they prepare for the upcoming draft, as they are bringing in Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive tackle Ty Robinson for a pre-draft visit, according to Tony Pauline.

Robinson was a five-year starter at Nebraska and finished the 2024 season with 12.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He played all over the defensive line for the Cornhuskers and could be a productive rotational player at multiple positions in multiple schemes. If he can provide pressure on the quarterback at the NFL level, especially from the interior of the line, he’ll find a way on the field.

The Bengals finished with a 9-8 record in 2024 despite a top-tier offense led by Joe Burrow, who put up MVP numbers, and Ja’Marr Chase, who won the Triple Crown. They missed the playoffs because the defense couldn’t keep opposing offenses off the field, and even though Trey Hendrickson led the league in sacks with 17.5, the team finished in the bottom 10 in the league by bringing down the opposing quarterback in the backfield. An actual pass-rushing threat from the defensive tackle position is something the team has missed since Geno Atkins left the team.

It’s clear the Bengals are interested in this year’s defensive tackle draft class. They’ve brought several defensive linemen in for pre-draft visits, including James Pearce, Walter Nolen, Ty Hamilton, and Omarr Norman-Lott. With a deep and talented defensive line draft class, the Bengals are likely to find someone they like at edge or defensive tackle at some point this April.

ESPN has Robinson as their 11th-best defensive tackle in this year’s class and the No. 75 overall prospect on their big board. PFF has Robinson lower on their big board, clocking him as the 22nd-best defensive tackle and No. 192 overall. Dane Brugler lists Robinson as the No. 12 defensive tackle in this year’s class and predicts he’ll be a third or fourth-round pick in this year’s “The Beast.”

What would you think if the Bengals selected Robinson in the upcoming draft?
