Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Charlie Jones needed a cart to leave the field on Thursday after suffering an apparent injury.
Jones went down with what appeared to be a right leg injury and according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, couldn’t put any weight on it when moving to the cart.
Unlike previous injuries at training camp, the inclusion of the cart is a bad sign. Thursday’s practice was inside Paycor Stadium, whereas previous practices took place at the practice fields near the stadium and the cart was merely precautionary due to the distance.
Jones heads into his sophomore year as a notable part of the wideout depth chart with Tyler Boyd gone. He also has a key role on special teams as a returner.
Cart coming out for Charlie Jones now. He couldn’t put weight on his leg getting in. Awful to see, he’s been having a great camp.
Many teammates went over to him before he went off on the cart. pic.twitter.com/yiFTzSUQcT
