Former Cincinnati Bengal second-round pick, cornerback Cam Taylor Britt could be on the trade block this offseason. According to reports, the Bengals might put the cornerback on the trade block since they don’t have the financial liberty to give him a new contract as he’s entering the final year of his rookie deal this upcoming season. To no surprise, the Bengals will have to be careful how they spend their money for the next several offseasons after spending top-notch deals for wide receivers, Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase. This means there’s no path for Taylor Britt to return even if the Bengals want him, so this could force them to put him on the trade block.
Originally selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Nebraska product had his ups and downs, competing for a starting role against former cornerback Eli Apple. Unfortunately, Taylor Britt couldn’t start in his rookie year after undergoing core muscle surgery, missing a few games until October. The cornerback did cap off the season with 41 solo tackles and six passes defensed in ten games while starting nine of those matchups. He became their dependable starter next to Chidobe Awuzie in 2023, earning a career-high of four interceptions, and he got better.
Despite that, following Awuzie’s departure, Taylor Britt had another opportunity, starting a full season. However, the Bengals might have no choice but to try and trade him now before he becomes a free agent next offseason. Since the team has yet to sign free agent Mike Hilton, this means the Bengals are betting on younger talent like Daxton Hill to step up.

Possible Next Teams
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints will more than likely have a chaotic season this year. After losing Derek Carr for another season to injury, it’s safe to say the Saints won’t be the same this season, even though there is some enthusiasm for second-year quarterback Spencer Rattler. He got the chance to start last season when Carr was out, but it wasn’t anything like the Saints were hoping, so it might be time for incoming head coach Kellen Moore is lean on the ground game and defense to win football games.
Meanwhile, the Saints still have one of the worst secondary units, and losing Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo in one year is a huge loss. Kool-Aid McKinstry has a bright future on this team, but he can’t do it alone. He’s still developing, and they need some experienced starters in their pass secondary. Taylor Britt might not be the most explosive, and he doesn’t have to be to boost this unit.
Carolina Panthers
Even though Jaycee Horn and Mike Jackson are coming back on new deals, the Panthers could use another cornerback in rotation. Last season, it was all about the offense, but the team has been focusing on fixing the defense. It’s never a bad idea to get another secondary piece, and Taylor Britt could fit the bill for at least a season.
Washington Commanders
The same can be said about the Washington Commanders. It’s still a developmental process for the offense, but they need some talent in their secondary unit. Marshon Lattimore is coming back, but the team is signing Jonathan Jones for a year to test the waters. Taylor Britt could fit the mold in this roster and fight for a spot with Jones.
