Watson’s appeared to be significant.
In what was an ugly first half, the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns both lost key players to what have been some struggling offenses.
For the Bengals, it was standout left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., who came up gimpy after a play and had to be examined by trainers in the blue medical tent. He eventually came out of the tent and was escorted to the locker room.
The Bengals have since announced his return is questionable due to a right knee injury. However, coming out of the halftime break, the Bengals downgraded Brown’s status to doubtful, so it looks like Cody Ford is the left tackle for the rest of this one, which is a terrifying thought vs. this Browns pass rush.
For the Browns, it was a much bigger loss, as quarterback Deshaun Watson suffered an Achilles injury and had to be carted off the field. He’s since been ruled out.
Watson was very emotional as he was carted to the locker room, appearing to know it was a potentially season-ending injury.
With Watson out, the Browns are going with Dorian Thompson-Robinson at quarterback. Jameis Winston is the emergency third QB.
We will update this post as more details come out.
