The NFL legend had some incredibly high praise for the current franchise QB in Cincinnati.
Every Bengals fan believes Joe Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, but that belief is beginning to spread around former NFL coaches and stars as well.
Contrary to what the national media wants you to believe, Burrow has implemented himself as the most accurate quarterback in the league currently.
In a conversation with Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson, former Cincinnati Bengals coach and NFL legend Dick LeBeau says Burrow is one of the most accurate quarterbacks he has ever seen.
“He might be the most accurate I’ve seen,” LeBeau told Hobson. “Here’s an old-timer. When I came into the league, there were 12 teams and they each had two quarterbacks. Only 24 people in the country were getting paid to throw the ball, so they were pretty damn good passers.”
The praise for Burrow did not stop there.
“Van Brocklin. [Bart] Starr. Unitas. They just had ball placement, and Joe reminds me of those guys a lot. He’s a better athlete. Quicker. Can run more. He doesn’t get much credit for his escapability, but he’s not a sitting duck back there. He can do that part. You can’t say this guy is better than that guy. But they’re all right up there, and that’s where Joe is,” said LeBeau.
Burrow is coming off his best statistical season, leading the NFL in both passing yards and passing touchdowns.
Although it was a disappointing season all around for the Bengals as a team, Burrow was near perfect in every game and gave a poor team a chance to win every week.
The 2025 season can’t come soon enough.
