Could Justin Jefferson join forces with Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase in Cincinnati? Apparently, this LSU reunion is on the table.
On Tuesday afternoon, former Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert tweeted, “Sources telling me Jefferson to Cincy is in motion.”
This led to Cincy Jungle writing up an article titled, “Former Bengals star Tyler Eifert jokes that Vikings All-Pro Justin Jefferson is headed to Cincinnati.” Eifert replied to that post and made it known that he wasn’t joking.
Chase only added fuel to the fire by tweeting, “this will be a krazy story to tell.”
Jefferson is currently set to enter the final year of his contract with the Vikings. The idea of him teaming up with Burrow and Chase is awfully intriguing, but Minnesota hasn’t shown any indication that it wants to trade him.
“The Vikings came close to extending WR Justin Jefferson last offseason. In Indy, GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah aggressively rejected the idea of trading the star,” Dianna Russini of The Athletic said. “Kirk Cousins’ departure hasn’t changed things. The Vikings have no plans to trade Jefferson.”
Jefferson has been one of the top wideouts in the league for the past few years. He already has 392 receptions for 5,899 yards and 30 touchdowns.
