How do you feel about the hires? Sound off!
The Cincinnati Bengals made their first coaching hires of the offseason as they have added not one but two offensive line coaches. They brought in Scott Peters and Michael McCarthy as the offensive line coach and assistant offensive line coach, respectfully.
Both worked together this past season with the same roles for the New England Patriots. Before Peters was the Patriots’ offensive line coach, he was an assistant offensive line coach for the Browns.
McCarthy came from college football. He was an offensive line coach for Brown University and an offensive assistant coach for Rutgers until he took the job with the Patriots.
The Bengals decided to part ways with Frank Pollack after the 2024 season saw quarterback Joe Burrow sacked the fourth most throughout the league. Despite the issues on the line, Burrow was able to put up MVP-caliber numbers and helped Ja’Marr Chase win the rare Triple Crown.
A true franchise quarterback is a rare thing in the NFL, and the Bengals need to protect their most valuable asset. That responsibility will fall to Peters and McCarthy now.
