Cincinnati Bengals backup quarterback Jake Browning helped lead the team to its third-straight win on Saturday, a 27-24 overtime victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
The win had a personal element for Browning, who spent his first three NFL seasons with the Vikings as a member of their practice squad. He was released in training camp in 2021 and then caught on with the Bengals.
“You should have never f—–g cut me!” Browning could be seen yelling into the camera following Evan McPherson’s game-winning field goal in OT.

Browning said after the game he did not appreciate hoe the previous Vikings regime handled his dismissal in 2021, but on Tuesday, he expressed regret for his emotional reaction.
Browning called the outburst “authentic” but then added that it shouldn’t have happened.
“You keep it all pent up and then it comes out. But I guess my biggest regret was that game turned into like my revenge game, when in reality there were so many things that went into getting that win,” he said, via the team’s website. “Making sure it’s acknowledged it wasn’t just my revenge game, it was a great team win.”
Still alive in the playoff race at 8-6, Browning and the Bengals will look to make it four team wins in a row when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
