After an injury-plagued 2023, Joe Burrow says he’ll be ready to go for the start of the season.
Per Dov Kleiman, the Bengals Pro Bowl QB told reporters at Tuesday’s mandatory minicamp that he’ll be behind center for Cincinnati’s Week 1 matchup vs. the New England Patriots.
Burrow also said that he’s approaching things with a different mindset this offseason.
Telling WLWT News 5: “Whenever the injuries start to stack up, your football mortality kind of comes to mind. … It’s always a balancing act. That’s what this offseason has been about for me. It’s not pushing through some of the things I have in the past.”
While Burrow has been terrific over his first four seasons, injuries are starting to become just as much of a story as his excellent play.
The former No. 1 pick missed six games as a rookie after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in his left knee and the final seven games of last season with a wrist injury that required surgery.
Hopefully we get a full 2024 campaign with Joe Burrow on the field — especially with this potentially being the last year he, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins are able to play together before one of the receivers gets paid.
