The latest installment of the Bengals-Chiefs rivalry is set for this Sunday afternoon at Arrowhead Stadium.
The game will have an added personal meeting for Cincinnati offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. Brown spent the last two seasons with the Chiefs before signing a long-term contract with the Bengals this past offseason.
Even though Brown played the 2022 season on the franchise tag, setting the stage for his exit from Kansas City, the 27-year-old lineman says there are no hard feelings at all towards his old team.
“That was the organization that gave me an opportunity to be a left tackle in this league and helped put me in position to be here. So there’s no animosity.” Brown said. “I’m super excited, just for everything that’s at stake for us as a team.”
Brown made the Pro Bowl in both of his seasons with the Chiefs, starting 33 of 34 regular season games. He also helped Kansas City win Super Bowl LVII.
Both teams have plenty on the line this weekend. The 9-6 Chiefs have been slumping and need one more win to secure an eighth-straight AFC West title.
Meanwhile, the Bengals are one of several teams fighting for a wild card spot at 8-7. They won’t have an easy end of the road either, finishing out the regular season against Kansas City and Cleveland.
