Can Cincinnati get back to .500 and hit the reset button on the season?
For yet another week this season, the Cincinnati Bengals seem to face another “must-win” game, as the Philadelphia Eagles are set to visit Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon.
Joe Burrow and the Bengals are now 3-4 on the season. With a win over Philly, they have a chance to claw their way back to .500 after a horrid start to 2024.
Both the Bengals and Eagles are winners of two straight games and looking for a statement win to get their seasons back on track.
The Eagles offense seems to be getting their footing with the return of AJ Brown and dominant start to the year from Saquon Barkley.
But on the other side, the Bengals offense has also had its successful moments this season with Joe Burrow playing at an MVP level, Ja’Marr Chase leading the NFL as WR1, and Tee Higgins playing with a serious chip on his shoulder.
Cincinnati’s defense will be tested big time after strong performance in back-to-back games.
The defensive line is healthy, the pass rush seems to get home consistently, and the secondary is playing aggressively.
This feels like the week that both the offense and defense get on the same page and continue elevating as the season progresses.
If the two units can do that, the Bengals could return to .500 through the first eight weeks.
