Is Duke making calls?
The Cincinnati Bengals acquired running back Khalil Herbert from the Chicago Bears in exchange for a seventh-round pick ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline. With Zack Moss out indefinitely with a neck injury, the Bengals needed to get a new back in the fold.
The Bengals historically do not trade for players in season, but it appears the front office knows they need help from outside of the building to make a run at the playoffs.
After the Herbert trade, Diana Russini of The Athletic reported that the Bengals were “not done” and that they were still calling around the league for defensive help.
The Cincinnati Bengals trade with the Bears to get running back Khalil Herbert, and I was told they’re not done. Cincinnati continues to look around the league for an addition on defense.

Russini was one of the first to report that the Bengals would be active before the deadline not as sellers, but as buyers.
The positions they could focus on include cornerback and defensive end. While Trey Hendrickson leads the NFL in sacks with 11, the Bengals’ pass rush is virtually nonexistent outside of him.
Will Duke Tobin bring much-needed help before the Bengals take on the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football? We will know by 4 PM ET.
