Chase and Higgins have been two of the best receivers in the NFL since they came into the league and want to be compensated as such.
Chase will likely get the bigger of the two deals since his production has been a little bit better since entering the league. He has another year left on his contract after the 2024 season since the Bengals picked up his 2025 option.
Higgins is set to be a free agent after this season unless the Bengals franchise tag him again. If they don’t sign him to a new deal before mid-July, he’ll have to play this season on the tag, which is a little over $21 million.
The Bengals will likely not be able to afford both contracts so they’ll have to decide over the next few months.
Chase finished the 2023 season with 100 receptions for 1,216 yards and seven touchdowns while Higgins compiled 42 receptions for 656 yards and five touchdowns.
