We’re interested in hearing where you cheer on the Bengals from.
We’re officially at that point in the offseason. Things have come to a screeching halt. With the draft less than a month away, teams — including the Cincinnati Bengals — have mostly pressed pause on free agency as they gear up for the big event. There’ll be a flurry of signings once the draft wraps up, but until we hit April 24, there’s just not a whole lot happening.
So we thought it’d be fun to hear where you’re cheering for the Bengals (and reading Cincy Jungle) from. Don’t worry—we’re not asking for your address, so please don’t drop that in the comments. But we do know there are readers and commenters from Canada, Australia, and all over Europe. We also know there are diehard fans across the United States.
Of course, the team has a massive following in the Cincinnati area—which includes Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana. But if you’re cheering from somewhere outside the Greater Cincinnati area, we want to know where you’re at and how you came to be a fan of the orange and black. If you’re cheering from within the Greater Cincinnati area, are you on the East or West side? I’m from here and still don’t really know why it matters, but it matters.
Are you a Cincinnati native who’s left the city behind but never gave up your Bengaldom? Or did you become a fan from afar—and if so, how and why?
I’ll go first.
I’m from Cincinnati—specifically Harrison (so, basically more Indiana than West Side)—and was born into a Bengals family. I graduated high school in ‘02 and served in the military from ‘03 to ‘07, proudly repping the Bengals from Florida, Virginia, and Upstate New York. When I moved back home, I went to UC, earned my degree, and eventually settled in the Oak Hills school district, where my kids now go to school. So yeah, I guess I’m officially a true West Sider.
Now it’s your turn.
Below, I’ve included a list of countries where I know we have readers. If you’re from a country not listed, comment, and I’ll add it.
I’ve also included all 50 states and US territories. States where our writers (the ones I know, at least) live are in bold (Ohio, Kentucky, and AC way out in California). I’ll be watching the comments, and when I see new states pop up, I’ll bold those too.
So let’s hear it.
Go!
