There’s still reason to be thankful for the Cincinnati Bengals.
It may not seem like it, but things could be worse for Cincinnati Bengals fans (Ya’ll remember the 90s, right?). This season has been a massive disappointment, but there is plenty of reason to feel optimistic about the future.
So, while you are off breaking wishbones and watching NFC East backup quarterbacks on Thanksgiving, here are a few things you can be thankful for.
Joe Burrow
The Bengals have their quarterback, and they got him extended. While the team has not had an impressive season, Joe Burrow has been phenomenal. While their hopes may look slim for the rest of the year, with a signal caller like that, you never know.
Ja’Marr Chase is still Under Contract
How many times have we heard that the Bengals were going to lose Ja’Marr Chase? Well guess what, he isn’t going anywhere. Chase is still under contract for next season with a team option for another season after that. 9 to 1 is alive and well in Cincinnati and that isn’t changing any time soon.
Ditto Trey Hendrickson
The Bengals pass rush may be a one-man band, but Cam Cole, I mean Trey Hendrickson, isn’t going anywhere. Hendrickson has been outstanding throughout his time in Cincinnati and seems to be getting better every year.
The Browns Suck Too
The Bengals may be bad, but at least they aren’t the Browns. Can you imagine following a team that spends all that money and still sucks? Sure, maybe it is a bit of schadenfreude, but it’s nice to know that as upset as we are about how the season has gone, at least our friends up north are much worse off. In the words of the late great Sam Wyche, “You aren’t from Cleveland. You’re from Cincinnati.”
