The Cincinnati Bengals have a plan in place for star quarterback Joe Burrow.
Burrow is still working his way back from season-ending wrist surgery and head coach Zac Taylor has a plan for him to have the second day off every week of practice. He doesn’t want Burrow to push himself too much.
Burrow played the first 10 games of the 2023 season before he hurt his wrist during a Thursday night game against the Baltimore Ravens. He had to come out of the game before he was ruled out for the rest of the season.
He finished the year completing 66.8% of his passes for 2,309 yards through the air, 15 touchdowns, and only six interceptions.
Taylor said Burrow plan has involved having the second day off every week. Designed to keep him from pushing too hard. Part of return process they designed.

He’s expected to be ready to go for the 2024 season as the Bengals try and return to the playoffs. Jake Browning did an admirable job in Burrow’s place to end the 2023 season but he wasn’t able to get them to the playoffs.
The Bengals will open the 2024 season against the New England Patriots on September 8 at 1 p.m. ET.
