SEC BOOM!
The Kentucky Wildcats have landed a pledge from Alabama Crimson Tide forward Mouhamed Dioubate, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.
Set to be a junior for the 2025-26 college basketball season with two years of eligibility remaining, Dioubate was originally a 4-star prospect in the class of 2023. He was ranked as the 104-best recruit and 22nd-best power forward by 247 Sports.
The New York native signed with Nate Oats’ program while holding additional scholarship offers from Maryland, St. John’s, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Kansas State, Wake Forest, and Pittsburgh, among others.
As a true freshman, the 6-foot-7, 215-pound Dioubate averaged 2.9 points on 47.4% shooting and 2.4 rebounds in 7.7 minutes per game.
This season, averaged 7.2 points on 61.7% shooting (46.2% from deep on 0.7 3-point attempts per game), 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 16 minutes per game this past season. He logged significant minutes at the 3 and 4 spots, so he’ll give someone depth at multiple spots. That’s important, given Kentucky’s lack of depth in the frontcourt.
In Alabama’s Round of 64 win over Robert Morris, Dioubate poured in 18 points (8/10 shooting and 2/2 on 3s), one block, and one steal. He chipped in 10 points, five boards, and one block in the Tide’s Round of 32 win over Saint Mary’s.
In a November win over Houston, Dioubate went for 10 points (3/8 shooting), 16(!) rebounds, three blocks, one assist, and one steal.
In the SEC Tournament win over Kentucky, he racked up 13 points (5/6 shooting), eight boards, two blocks, and one steal.
With this commitment, Kentucky has now added three transfers in Dioubate, Tulane shooting guard Kam Williams, and Pitt point guard Jaland Lowe.
