A little light is shone on what has been plaguing Carr the last few weeks.
The injury bug has bitten the Kentucky Wildcats this season, as three key rotation players have been sidelined over the last few weeks due to different injuries.
One of those players has been Andrew Carr. After battling a back injury the last few weeks, the talented forward spoke to the media on Monday about what has been bothering him. Apparently, it dates back all the way to New Year’s Eve and the team’s game vs. Brown.
“Out of nowhere, I ended up just getting a lot of spasms and was dealing with a cycle of pretty bad spasms,” Carr said.
“It kind of was a little gradual. I kind of felt it when we got back from the New Year, and more towards the Brown game a little bit. Then it kind of started right from there again, right when the SEC play started, unfortunately,” Carr continued.
Luckily for Kentucky, it sounds like his recovery is in a good spot.
“Feeling good, feeling good,” Carr said. “It was certainly a tough stretch for me for a little bit. I’ve spent a lot of time with our trainers and been able to recover a little bit here and starting to stabilize a little bit and feel a whole lot better. I’m in a good spot.”
This is good news for the team going forward, as there are still some big-time matchups for the Cats. Getting Carr back to 100% will greatly impact the chances of making a strong push to end the season.
