In a bad loss, history continues to be made against Kentucky.
In Kentucky’s 98-84 loss to Ole Miss, forward Ansley Almonor made history in an unexpected way.
Almonor played 15 minutes without registering a single statistical contribution—no field goal attempts, free-throw attempts, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, fouls, or turnovers.
Trent Noah did the same as well in 13 minutes of action. That made them two of the three most minutes ever played by a Wildcat that didn’t log a statistic, according to Big Blue History.
Against Ole Miss both Ansley Almonor & Trent Noah recorded zero stats in the boxscore. Of games where full stats are available, this is the 2nd & 3rd most minutes played by a UK player to not record a stat. The most was 24 by K. Walker in 20-DEC-1983 vs. Cincinnati (Stall-ball). https://t.co/XxKXisuvzp pic.twitter.com/jJXSALSIOj

During Almonor’s time on the floor, Kentucky faced challenges on both ends of the court, struggling to generate offense while also having difficulty getting stops defensively. Almonor posted a +/- of -20, reflecting the team’s struggles during his minutes on the court. Despite playing, his time in the game did not lead to contributions while on the floor.
As for Noah, he posted a -2.
As SEC play continues, Kentucky will need contributions from its entire roster to stay competitive. Improving defensive pressure and finding consistency on both ends of the floor will be crucial as the Wildcats push for success in conference play.
