Where will Ivisic end up next?
A big name with Kentucky ties is back in the NCAA transfer portal.
On Monday, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported that Arkansas center Zvonimir Ivisic was entering the portal. It marks the second straight offseason he’s gone portaling after leaving Kentucky last offseason to follow John Calipari to Fayetteville.
This season, Big Z averaged 8.5 points on 47.3% shooting (37.6% on 3s), 4.3 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game. One of his best games of the season came against Mark Pope and Kentucky, as Ivisic racked up 14 points on 5/8 shooting (4/7 from deep), four rebounds, and an assist at Rupp Arena.
While Ivisic had good performances throughout the season, he never was able to sustain it, which is part of why he didn’t see the floor much down the stretch. He logged just 8.5 minutes per game over the Hogs’ final four contests, scoring just two points during that span.
Kentucky needs frontcourt depth, and Pope made it sound like he was open to keeping Ivisic in Lexington. However, Ivisic still isn’t someone you want to hand a starting role to, something he’ll probably be looking for elsewhere.
Will be interesting to see where he ends up.
