Another rough night for the UK football program.
The Kentucky Wildcats traveled to Gainesville for a date with the Florida Gators as they looked to pick up their fourth straight win over the Gators. Well, that didn’t even come close to happening as the Cats got blasted, dropping their second straight game, 48-20.
Ultimately, the first half for UK featured all the woes that the BBN has expressed over the last few weeks. From dropped passes to some questionable play-calls and how we can forget the penalties, the Cats once again couldn’t get out of their own way on the offensive side of the ball. Add that in with the first poor performance from this Kentucky defense, and it led to a 14-point deficit heading into the half. (PS thank you, Barion Brown)
Coming out of the half, the Cats put together a solid drive that seemed like the team was ready to show some fight after an atrocious first half.
Well, despite that effort, the offense regressed back to the mean throughout the remainder of the half en route to a blowout.
With five games left, Kentucky now has its backs against the wall and has very little room to wiggle out.
Overall, the BBN saw another step backward tonight. Not much else to say.
Box Score
Game MVP
This game was ugly. It was really ugly on both sides of the ball, but if we are going to give this to anyone, I think it has to go to Barion Brown.
Yes, his drop that led to a Brock Vandagriff interception was ugly, but overall, his two touchdowns were the only juice this Kentucky team had brought the entire night.
He finished with two receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown while also adding 115 yards and a touchdown in the return game.
If the Cats hope to make any noise to end the season, it will be Brown who needs to step up and help propel this Kentucky offense.

DJ Lagway’s explosiveness/turnover wire act on full display that opening drive. Play extension create two chunk plays but Kentucky had a chance at 2 takeaways.
Third consecutive opening drive points allowed by Kentucky’s defense.

Feels like Kentucky has not had much success with the QB sneak on 3rd/4th and short. I’d rather see them turn around and hand it off.

And that’s the high wire act. Feast/famine QB right now. Kentucky’s defense gets a monster takeaway. https://t.co/2zwZy0SDjD

Now 4 completions for 152 yards. Kentucky is getting torched on the deep post. https://t.co/lTSp7R1iDO

Two plays after Kentucky went 4-and-out inside the Florida 5-yard line, the Gators moved the ball inside the Kentucky 15-yard line.
It feels like the wheels are falling off.

This one feels to be over… defense is starting to collapse…
Can’t blame them… week after week, play after play… your offense doesn’t give you any help

I think Kentucky had a 4th and 2 that somehow was a First and 10
But I have zero idea bc Otis from Mayberry is running the SEC Network production of this game

Ah, another atrocious offensive operation under Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops. Rinse and repeat. A pathetic offensive program virtually year in and year out under his leadership. Doesn’t matter who’s calling the plays.

Florida’s backup QB has more explosive throws tonight than UK has all season.

I hate to say it because I think in general this staff has done an awesome job here
But this has been a really poorly coached team all year. It just has

All systems failure…
A couple bad calls but you didn’t deserve to win…
INT’s, not scoring after starting at the 9, terrible defense, time and clock management…
