The Texas A&M head coach had high remarks for Mark Pope and his Cats.
The Kentucky Wildcats were back in Rupp Arena on Tuesday night for another top-15 SEC matchup this season.
The Cats hosted 11th-ranked Texas A&M in Lexington, looking for back-to-back top-15 wins after taking down Mississippi State a few days ago.
Jaxson Robinson dropped 22 points, helping boost Kentucky over the Aggies, 81-69.
Kentucky played well in numerous phases, outrebounding the Aggies 40-30, and had 19 team assists to A&M’s four.
After the game, Aggies head coach Buzz Williams had some incredibly high praise for Mark Pope and the Wildcats.
Wow… this is a must listen for Kentucky fans…
Texas A&M head coach Buzz Williams speaks on how “remarkable” Kentuckys offense is.
He says that teaching in practice must be remarkable.

Buzz Williams was VERY complimentary of Kentucky tonight.
“They’re good enough to win the national championship… They play with great spirit. Their coach has a phenomenal spirit. How he leads is the appropriate way in 2025.”

“Really good players, but I think the utilization of the talent and the skill, considering the newness of the coach and his staff and the players…that is really difficult to do. I have not seen any of their practices or film sessions, but the teaching going on and the itinerary of the practices, for them to have the execution that they have is remarkable,” Williams said after their loss to Kentucky while later adding, “They’re good enough to win the national championship.”
This is a very important message to the college basketball world from Williams, especially about how quickly Kentucky has come together under first-year head coach Mark Pope.
The team still has some work to do, but wins over Florida, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M in the last few weeks is quite impressive, considering how talented and deep the SEC is this season.
Let’s see if they can keep it up with a top-five Alabama Crimson Tide team on Saturday.
