Could the true freshman QB get his first collegiate start next week?
The Kentucky Wildcats are finishing up their second bye week of the season today. The Cats roster has been working to get healthy for the final three games of the season.
With plenty of names on the injury report over the last few weeks, it is Brock Vandagriff’s injury that has some of the fanbase wondering if he will take the field next week against Murray State.
After suffering a head injury against Tennessee, the Cats’ QB1 still seems questionable for next week’s matchup. That leaves the question: Will Gavin Wimsatt or Cutter Boley get the start?
It appears Boley could be in line to get his first career start against the Racers. Nick Roush of KSR reported that Boley has received the majority of the first-team reps during practice this week.
The BBN has only seen Cutter take the field once this season, as the UK staff put him on the field for some snaps against the Florida Gators in their blowout victory a few weeks ago. In what was a tough spot to enter the game in Gainesville, this seems like a perfect opportunity to not only get the young QB some reps but see if he can compete for the job next season.
This offseason will still be a whirlwind, but it should be exciting to see a young QB get the ball next Saturday.
