It’s been a brutal season of injuries for the Wildcats.
In what’s been a difficult season for the Kentucky Wildcats, they were dealt another hit even after a 48-6 win over Murray State on Saturday. Standout linebacker D’Eryk Johnson is out for the remainder of the season due to a previous injury suffered.
Jackson has been unavailable the last two games after first being put on the availability report after the loss at Florida in Week 8. The South Georgia native was pulled from the game against Auburn in Week 9 before missing the last two games.
The Wildcats are already without Jason Dumas-Johnson, JJ Weaver and Deone Walker, but Mark Stoops is hopeful they will return before the season is over. Kentucky still has games at Texas and at home against Louisville, and they will need to win both games to become bowl-eligible. Alex Afari Jr. has started the last two games in Jackson’s place.
Since he only played in four games because of an Achilles injury in 2021, Jackson could seek a medical redshirt and potentially return for a final season in 2025. In his Wildcats career, Jackson has 217 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, nine pass breakups, five interceptions, three sacks and a forced fumble.
