Brock Vandagriff plays the best game of his career for a big-ranked road win.
How about that? The Kentucky Wildcats get one of the biggest wins in program history in Oxford against the sixth-ranked Ole Miss Rebels.
In that, Brock Vandagriff and the Kentucky offense had their best performance of the season, despite only putting up just 20 points.
Brock Vandagriff, in particular, played the best game of his career.
BVG went 18-28 with 243 yards, one touchdown, and zero turnovers. Dane Key was on the receiving end of 105 of those yards with eight catches and one touchdown. Barion Brown had five catches for 88 yards, which was the biggest catch and play of his life, with a long fourth-down conversion late in the fourth quarter that led to the go-ahead touchdown fumble that was recovered by Josh Kattus after Gavin Wimsatt fumbled at the goal line.

The last two games, BVG and Dane Key have developed a real connection, with now two straight games of 100+ yards receiving for Key.
Despite just 20 points on the board, Kentucky held Ole Miss to just 353 total yards of offense, well below their 600-plus yards average through four games. Kentucky finished with 336 yards, just 17 yards behind the best offense in the nation.
If you have to have one qualm about BVG’s performance, he does tend to hold the ball much longer than fans would like, taking four brutal sacks on third down, costing some crucial yardage on a day where Kentucky did not punt the ball well.
However, you have to feel very confident about what you saw from the former 5-star Saturday, especially after what transpired in Week 2 against South Carolina.
It’s also worth pointing out that Vandagriff did not turn the ball over. It was also his third straight game without an interception.
Finally, Vandagriff’s performance earned him a 78.0 grade from Pro Football Focus. He now has a 72.7 mark for the season, the fifth-highest of any Kentucky offensive player and the third-best of anyone who’s played at least 60 snaps this season.
Now, Kentucky heads into their first bye week with Vanderbilt waiting in two weeks in Lexington. And you have to like where Vandagriff is trending heading down the stretch of the regular season.
