In a tradition that has become about as deep as first pitch, Rocco’s Jello Shot Challenge in Omaha, Nebraska is back for this year’s College World Series. So which of the eight fanbases is going to win?
The challenge is simple: The fanbase that buys the most $5 jello shots at Rocco’s over the course of the College World Series wins. This year’s CWS is a battle of SEC vs. ACC supremacy.
Representing the SEC are Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida and Texas A&M. For the ACC, it’ll be Florida State, North Carolina, Virginia and NC State.
Between the eight of them there are a lot of passionate fanbases who travel very well and will likely be opening their wallets wide to win the challenge.
For the most part though, a lot of fans are tipping the SEC fanbases – specifically Tennessee – to take the title this year.
“Tennessee is a clear favorite but I have a theory for why Kentucky is a spoiler. Tomorrow’s pod. After today’s semi-emergency pod,” Pat Forde wrote.
“#UVa did not have a great showing in the Jello shot challenge last season in Omaha. The good news for the this year’s group is LSU fans won’t be there to lap the field like they did last year (they bought almost 70,000 Jello shots),” wrote another.
“My money is on Tenn or Kentucky to take it this year,” a third user wrote.
Who do you think is winning the challenge this year?
