Take a look at the first edition of this week’s injury report.
The Kentucky Wildcats are preparing for their first road test of the season as they travel to Oxford this Saturday for a date with the Ole Miss Rebels.
Sitting at 2-2 on the year, the Cats are going to get a crack at another top-ten squad and will do so with a little more firepower on the offensive side of the ball this time around.
Tonight, the initial injury report for the matchup was released by both schools. For Kentucky, the biggest news is Ohio State transfer running back Chip Trayanum has finally lost the ‘out’ designation next to his name. Unfortunately, he is still considered doubtful.
Coming off a broken hand from the end of fall camp, Trayanum will look to add some more juice to a running back room that has played really well to start the season. We will have to keep an eye out to see if he will get the chance to go this weekend.
For Kentucky, the remaining names on the initial report are guys we have all expected, with Devin Smith as the only other player to receive a doubtful designation.
Freshman running back Jason Patterson and left guard Jager Burton are no longer on the injury report after missing the last two games.
Ole Miss has 26 players listed on the initial report, with the majority of the names listed as probable for Saturday’s matchup.
Offensive lineman Jeremy James is still listed as out after breaking his hand in Week 1. He was vying for a starting spot, as was Caleb Warren, who has yet to play this year but is listed as probable.
The same is true of Gerquan Scott, who has yet to play this season but is listed as probable, so it appears the Rebels are getting some key players back this week.
We will have your update right here tomorrow as we inch closer to kickoff.
