Former Kentucky Wildcats five-star commit Jayden Quaintance has flipped his commitment.
Quaintance, a five-star big man from Word of God Christian Academy in North Carolina, had been committed to play for John Calipari at Kentucky. However, he backed off his commitment when Coach Cal left for Arkansas.
Now, the five-star big man has flipped his commitment – though he’s not following Coach Cal to Arkansas. Instead, he’s flipped his commitment to Arizona State.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news.
“Major commitment on a potential 2026 NBA Draft lottery pick: Jayden Quaintance – a 16-year old ranked as the No. 2 center in ESPN’s Top 100 prospects — will sign with the Arizona State Sun Devils, he tells ESPN. He recently de-committed from Kentucky,” he reported.
It’s a huge get for the Sun Devils, as the five-star big man is one of the top recruits in the country. He’s ranked the No. 2 center and No. 8 player overall by 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.
Quaintance was the highest-rated player yet to commit in the 2024 class. This is a big-time pickup for Bobby Hurley and his staff at Arizona State.
