Kenny Brooks and his team continue to roll.
Kentucky women’s basketball made quick work of Florida on Thursday night, earning a 71-55 road win over the Gators.
To no surprise, Georgia Amoore carried the load on offense by scoring a game-high 18 points. She was joined by Dazia Lawrence (14) and Clara Strack (12) in double-figure scoring.
While the Wildcats shot the ball well (48% from the floor), their defense was rather impressive by only allowing the Gators to make 38% of their shots. Kentucky also forced Florida into committing 20 turnovers, leading to easy offense on the other end.
Thursday night was the seventh time Kentucky held their opposition under 55 points, which further eludes to just how intense the Wildcats can be defensively.
The victory was Kentucky’s seventh in a row, third consecutive to start Southeastern Conference play and second straight win on the road away from Historic Memorial Coliseum.
Kentucky returns home on Sunday to host the Auburn Tigers at 3 PM ET with coverage on the SEC Network.
