Another huge win for the Cats!
The Kentucky Wildcats welcome the Tennessee Volunteers to tonight Rupp Arena tonight as they look to complete the season sweep of the Vols. Well, they did just that tonight as they knocked off Tennessee by a final score of 75-64.
Tonight’s first 20 minutes will be remembered as the Trent Noah half, as the Mountain Mamba came out and put up nine points quickly to spark the Cats. Other than that it was really felt like a case of déjà vu. The Kentucky defense forced the Vols to be a jump-shooting team once again, and it worked to perfection as UK headed into the locker room with a 33-26 lead.
How about some more fun in the second half? That is exactly what this team brought us, with some huge buckets from Travis Perry, Koby Brea, and Noah. How about the defense? The Cats answered once again. Oh yeah, they also did all of this without Lamont Butler for the final 8-minutes of the game.
This is another top-five win to add to the Cats’ resume, including their ninth Quad-1 win. Arguably no better resume in the country.
Now, the Cats will turn their attention to the Texas Longhorns as they head to Austin on Saturday.
Go Cats!

Game MVP
This is an easy choice. The Mountain Mamba, Trent Noah.
He finished the night with 11 points on 3-4 shooting, including 3/4 from deep. He also added two rebounds and an assist.
This is the first game of the year that his stats have really popped, but watching the game it was obvious the impact he made on both ends of the floor. Not to mention the toughness he brought against a Tennessee team that prides itself on its physicality.
Overall, it was a great game from the UK freshman, and likely the start to more minutes for the remainder of the season.

There are very few places on planet earth like Rupp Arena when in-state kids play well.
Travis Perry and Trent Noah have this place going nuts.

After being absolutely embarrassed against Arkansas and Ole Miss, Kentucky’s defense has been pretty damn good these last 3 halves against South Carolina and thus far against the Vols.
Tennessee shooting 35 percent and hasn’t gotten clean looks from 3.

Tennessee has now shot 8x as many free throws as Kentucky, 30 minutes into the game. Hm! #BBN pic.twitter.com/wxAvydbGMe

That’s a big-time win for Kentucky to get the sweep over No. 5 Tennessee.
‘Cats were short-handed, lost Lamont Butler in the second half – but got some key plays from Koby Brea down the stretch.
Shot 12-24 from 3, and the Vols were absymal from deep.
Now the key is the health…

Kentucky rebounded 100% of Tennessee’s misses in the final 3:49. That is TOUGHNESS!!!
Finished the game 74.2% on the defensive glass against a team that averages 38.0% on the offensive glass.
That is how you win TOUGH basketball games. https://t.co/ZVQNKG0cdr
