Kentucky gets back in the win column after a two-game skid.
The Kentucky Wildcats have snapped their two-game skid, winning 41-6 at home against the Ohio Bobcats.
Brock Vandagriff got to sling the ball around quite a bit, which is a drastic change from the last two weeks against SEC opponents. He cooled off in the second half, but the defense buckled down and scored a touchdown of their own, thanks to Maxwell Hairston’s pick-six.
The Kentucky offensive line still continues to be a liability for Brock Vandagriff and the Kentucky offense. BVG had more time to throw than normal today, but simple holding calls from the offensive line negated many big-chunk plays by the offense.
However, BVG did seem to develop a report with Dane Key in this one. Key caught seven passes for 145 yards.
Now, the real season begins. Kentucky is back to .500 on the season with a 2-2 record, so the season now comes down to eight games. Can Kentucky win at least four of them to become bowl-eligible? Can they win at least five of them to get to at least seven wins for the eighth straight season?
Tough games lie ahead against Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Texas, but they still host Vanderbilt, a struggling Auburn team, on the road against a Florida team that is such a question mark right now, Murray State, on the road in Austin against Texas, and, of course, Louisville.
Can Kentucky win four of these final eight games?

MVP
As has been the normal this season, I have to give the MVP of the game to the defense of Kentucky. Brock Vandagriff was a close second, but the defense again just imposed their will and locked down.
From constant pass rushes on Ohio’s backup quarterback to Maxwell Hairston’s third pick-six of his career in the third quarter, Brad White’s defense has been in gut-check mode since the anomaly in the South Carolina game two weeks ago.
Kentucky gave up a touchdown on the first play of the fourth quarter, just missing their second shutout of the season.
Their hands will be full next week when they head to Oxford to face one of the most explosive offenses in the entire country, led by Lane Kiffin and Jaxon Dart. The Rebels are currently averaging 56 PPG through three games.

I don’t want it to overshadow what was otherwise a really good First Half. But I will say again
There should be someone on the staff who every gameday is ONLY in charge of clock/analytic decisions in end of half/game situations
It is amazing how consistently bad we are at it

DSK has played really well this year but Wilcox is going to have to play a lot because they need explosives. This offense badly needs explosives.
