JDJ is ready to try his hand at the pro level.
Kentucky Wildcats senior linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson has declared for the NFL Draft, he announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Dumas-Johnson, who is out of college eligibility, was a standout on the defensive side of the ball for the Georgia Bulldogs during their dominant run from 2021-23 that featured two national championships. He transferred from Georgia in order to spend his final season of eligibility in Lexington, which turned out different than most everyone had anticipated.
It ended with a disappointing 4-8 season and a blowout loss to the Louisville Cardinals to top it all off.

“To the University of Kentucky and the coaching staff, thank you for the opportunity, welcoming me with open arms, and believing in me,” he wrote.
JDJ stacked up 67 tackles, seven TFLs, 3.5 sacks, one interception, and three fumble recoveries, including one for a touchdown.
Dumas-Johnson was thought to be a big off-season addition for a stacked defense on paper. The surrounding pieces struggled a bit, injuries hit, and Kentucky’s defense seemed to be teetering in the wrong direction toward the end of the season.
Dumas-Johnson joins fellow Kentucky Wildcats Deone Walker, Gerald Mincey, Zion Childress, and D’Eryk Jackson to declare for the 2025 draft.
