Two Kentucky signees making a name for themselves.
Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno, two standout recruits from Kentucky, have been selected to represent the United States at the 2025 Nike Hoop Summit.
Johnson, from Lexington, and Moreno, from Georgetown, are among the top signees for Mark Pope’s 2025 class and will now take the stage at one of the nation’s most prestigious high school all-star events.
The Nike Hoop Summit, which is scheduled for April 12 in Portland, Oregon, is regarded as one of the premier events in high school basketball, alongside the McDonald’s All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic. USA Basketball revealed Johnson and Moreno as part of the 12-player roster that will compete against an international team.
With the Kentucky Wildcats joining the Duke Blue Devils as the only schools with multiple players selected, this marks a significant achievement for Pope’s recruiting efforts. Johnson, who helped the U.S. capture gold at the 2024 FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup in Buenos Aires, will once again wear the red, white, and blue for the Nike Hoop Summit.
For Moreno, this event marks his debut with USA Basketball, highlighting his rising profile as one of the country’s top high school prospects.
The official roster for the 2025 USA Men’s Nike Hoop Summit is as follows:
- Darius Acuff Jr. (Arkansas)
- Nate Ament (undecided)
- Cameron Boozer (Duke)
- Cayden Boozer (Duke)

The 26th edition of the Nike Hoop Summit will bring together the top male and female basketball players from the United States to compete against a World Team made up of elite international players aged 19 and under.
The 2025 USA Women’s Nike Hoop Summit roster features LSU commit ZaKiyah Johnson from Shelbyville, KY, while Kentucky 5-star recruit Kaelyn Carroll was notably left off the list.
Other players selected to represent the U.S. include Darriana ‘Dee’ Alexander, Sienna Betts, Aaliyah Chavez, Aaliyah Crump, Jasmine ‘Jazzy’ Davidson, Alexandra Eschmeyer, Madison Francis, Grace Knox, Emilee Skinner, Jordan Speiser, and Hailee Swain.
The 2025 Nike Hoop Summit will be broadcast on the USA Network and also streamed on Peacock. The women’s game is set to begin at 7:30 PM ET, with the men’s game following at around 10:00 PM ET.
The Kentucky players have earned plenty of recognition this year, and more accolades are expected for future Wildcats, including Acaden Lewis and possibly Caleb Wilson.
