With the 2024-25 college basketball season arriving, the SEC has announced its Preseason Coaches All-SEC Teams.
The Kentucky Wildcats have one member on this year’s team: Senior wing Jaxson Robinson, who was named a Third-Team All-SEC selection.
The league’s media also recently tabbed the Oklahoma native as a Third-Team All-SEC pick. The 6-foot-6 senior averaged 21.5 points per game during UK’s two exhibition games following a 24-point outing vs. Minnesota State.
Alabama’s Mark Sears was voted the SEC Preseason Player of the Year.
Entering the season, KenPom.com has the SEC rated as the No. 1 conference in the nation. Twelve SEC teams are ranked in KenPom.com’s Top 50, and all 16 rank in the Top 100. The first AP Top 25 featured a nation-leading nine teams ranked: Alabama 2nd, Auburn 11th, Tennessee 12th, Texas A&M 13th, Arkansas 16th, Texas 19th, Florida 21st, Kentucky 23rd, and Ole Miss 24th.
The 2024-25 campaign begins November 4th, with league play set to begin January 4th. The 2025 SEC Tournament will be March 12-16 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
