The Cats add the former 4-star wideout.
The Kentucky Wildcats remained hot on the recruiting trail on Thursday, as Mark Stoops and his staff have entered a full rebuild after a disappointing season in Lexington.
With some exciting pieces already added to help bolster and remake the offensive line, now the staff has turned their attention to landing some skill talent to hopefully make this offense take off. It looks like they have landed their first transfer at a skill position as well.
According to a report by Pete Nakos of On3, Oklahoma Sooners transfer wide receiver JJ Hester has officially committed to the Cats. He becomes the sixth transfer commitment of the offseason.

Hester, a former 4-star recruit out of Tulsa (OK), originally committed to Missouri in the class of 2020, and his position coach at the time was current UK offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan. Now, Hester and Hamdan will reunite in Lexington, as they both hope to have breakout seasons.
Last year for the Sooners, Hester didn’t see a lot of action, as he only totaled 14 catches for 315 yards and a touchdown. He does, however, fill a very important role for the Cats this season, as they were looking for a big body to help replace Dane Key on the outside. At 6-foot-4 and 202 pounds, Hester does just that.
With his commitment, all eyes will now turn to a potential commitment at quarterback. Will it be Zach Calzada? I would guess with a receiver in the mix, we will get that answer very soon.
Go Cats!

Say what you want about JJ Hester, but he managed to have multiple of Oklahoma’s biggest moments in the passing game this season:
– Auburn deep ball that helped spark comeback
– Longest TD by OU player on Owen Field vs Maine
