Lovett was clocked going 120 MPH.
A key Kentucky Wildcats defensive back has found himself in some off-the-field trouble, as safety Jordan Lovett was arrested this week in Nelson County.
As reported by Jon Hale of The Herald-Leader, according to the arrest citation, Lovett was clocked going 120 MPH and has been charged with speeding of at least 26 mph over the limit, reckless driving, and failure to produce an insurance card. He was also charged with possession of marijuana.
According to Hale’s report, the UK football team will be handling the situation internally, per a spokesperson from UK.
Lovett, originally from Radcliff, should play a big role in the Kentucky secondary this upcoming season. This past season for the Cats, he totaled 63 tackles and grabbed two interceptions.
In addition, Hale reports that wide receiver Hardley Gilmore, who is transferring to Nebraska, was charged with misdemeanor assault on December 7th after allegedly punching someone in the face at a storage unit in downtown Lexington.
This news comes one day after Gilmore committed to the Cornhuskers.
