The former Wildcat is ready to get back on the field.
Former Kentucky Wildcats star Josh Paschal has been off the field for the Detroit Lions the past couple of weeks due to a health issue.
Paschal had just come off one of his best career games for the Lions against the Vikings, logging four tackles and a sack in the stat book.
But he has since missed back-to-back games for the Lions and announced on Wednesday that it was because he had a non-cancerous mass removed from his shoulder at Henry Ford Hospital.
“It was definitely frustrating,” Paschal said, “But I’m glad to be back now and ready to get after it this week in practice and set myself up for a big game on Sunday night,” Paschal told reporters.
This is not the first time Paschal has had non-football-related health issues after being diagnosed with skin cancer during his time in Lexington.
This is not the first time, so it can be easy to understand his frustration, as he’s just ready to get back on the field.
Paschal return will have a unique Kentucky tie after the Lions traded for another former Wildcat in Za’Darius Smith.
“He’s a great player, Kentucky dude too, so it’s good to have another Kentucky guy in the room.” Paschal told reporters, “He actually played with my brother back in college, so I know him a little back from the past.”
Look for Paschal to suit up this week against the Houston Texans.
