One of the premier basketball prospects is not eligible to play in the sport’s most prestigious showcase.
Overtime Elite guard and Kentucky commit Robert Dillingham is not eligible for the McDonald’s All-American Game. Overtime Elite is a semi-professional league based in Atlanta.
“Overtime Elite players are ineligible for the 2023 McDonald’s All American Games based upon our Selection Committee criteria,” Joe Wootten of the McDonald’s committee said by text.
Dillingham is a 5-star recruit, ranked No. 9 in the 2023 class by 247Sports. The 6-2 guard has signed with Kentucky, along with three other top-10 prospects.
Before he joined Overtime Elite, Dillingham played for Kanye West’s Donda Academy in Los Angeles.
Along with Dillingham, Overtime Elite has other top recruits. 5-star Stanford commit Kanaan Carlyle, 3-star NC State commit Trey Parker and 3-star forward Tyler Bey are among the top 150 prospects.
The Dillingham news was first reported by Joe Tipton.
