Could Kentucky add another high school prospect to its 2025 class?
The Kentucky Wildcats are furiously scouring the transfer portal in hopes of building a roster capable of making another deep NCAA Tournament run this time next year.
Might that include a new high school recruit joining the team?
According to On3’s Jamie Shaw, Kentucky had a Zoom meeting with 4-star recruit Braydon Hawthorne. The former West Virginia signee just got out of his NLI and is now free to be recruited again, and it appears Kentucky has real interest.
The 6-foot-8, 185-pound small forward is ranked as high as 48th nationally in the class of 2025 by On3. The West Virginia native is a late bloomer who wasn’t getting a lot of major interest when he signed with the Mountaineers.
Now, Kentucky is recruiting him, along with other programs like Indiana, Kansas State, Arizona State, Marquette, and Virginia Tech.
Will be interesting to see if Kentucky is serious about Hawthorne or merely doing due diligence on their options.
