Could the Cats make another splash?
Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats have been hard at work this offseason as they look to rebuild the roster after a disappointing season.
They have done well up to this point but still need to add a few bodies at the edge position. Chris Murray is a name that should be familiar to the BBN, but now a new name has burst onto the recruiting map for the Cats.
According to a report by 247 Sports’ Steve Robertson, Kentucky is now in the mix for South Dakota transfer Mi’Quise Grace. Robertson reports that Grace will visit Mississippi State once the dead period ends, while Clemson, Texas A&M, and Kentucky seem to be in good shape to host Grace as well.
Grace, a 6-foot-4 and 255-pound edge rusher out of Cincinnati, had a successful season for the Coyotes in 2024. He totaled 32 tackles while adding 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles.
With Kentucky’s staff ties to the Cincinnati area, it appears those connections are helping get the Cats into the mix with Grace in this recruitment.
Grace entered the portal on Christmas Eve, so this transfer recruitment is in the very early stages.
Let’s see if the Cats can close on Grace, but at the moment, it seems they will be taking whichever of Grace or Murray decides to commit first.
