Jayden Quaintance, the five-star big man from Word of God Academy (NC), announced his commitment to Kentucky on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-9, 16-year-old big man also considered Missouri.
“They have had a lot of success with previous draft picks,” he previously told On3.com of Kentucky. “They’ve had guard success, but they’ve had good success with bigs, a lot more than other colleges.
“Coach John Calipari has been showing a lot of love, and Coach Chin (Coleman), too. Coach Cal has already come to Word of God twice to see me. We’ve been able to build a good relationship.”
He joins four star point guard Travis Perry, five-star point guard Boogie Fland and four-star big man Somto Cyril in Kentucky’s 2024 class, now ranked No. 2 nationally by 247Sports.com.
Kentucky also remains alive for five-star guard V.J. Edgecombe of Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) and five-star wing Billy Richmond of Camden (N.J.).
