Big news for the Big Blue Wall.
The Kentucky Wildcats scored not one but two big transfer portal commitments on Monday.
First, it was Arkansas guard Joshua Braun who committed to the Wildcats, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Not long after, Kentucky landed a pledge from Bowling Green offensive tackle Alex Wollschlaeger, according to Nakos.
The 6-foot-6, 340-pound Braun began his career at Florida as a class of 2020 recruit. The Florida native primarily played the right and left guard spots in Gainesville.
After three years, Braun opted to enter the transfer portal and landed at Arkansas, where he was a full-time starter at right guard in each of the past two seasons. He earned PFF grades of 70.7 in both seasons. He was named Second-Team All-SEC by the AP for the 2023 season.
Braun has one year of eligibility remaining and will be slotted in to start at right guard for the Wildcats.
Wollschlaeger, a 6-foot-7, 305-pound native of Illinois was a class of 2020 signee of Bowling Green and has played exclusively at right tackle for five years. He was a Third-Team All-MAC selection in 2023 and a First-Team All-MAC pick this past season.
Wollschlaeger earned a career-best 76.6 PFF grade this season. He’ll be slotted in as Kentucky’s right tackle next season and has one year of eligibility remaining.
The future of the Big Blue Wall looks a lot more promising after today, and Kentucky isn’t done rebuilding it quite yet. Look for the Wildcats to target centers and left tackles to finish things up for this unit.
