The Cats’ sharpshooter is just 4/19 from deep over his last three games.
After going absolutely nuclear on sixth-ranked Florida on January 4th, Kentucky Wildcats sharpshooter Koby Brea has found himself in a bit of a slump.
Since lighting up the Gators for seven made 3-pointers, Brea is now just 4/19 from deep in his last three games.
Thankfully, the Cats were able to find a way to win two of those three games, even without much contribution from one of the best shooters in all of college basketball.
But how much longer can Mark Pope’s team play at a high level without Brea’s shot-making ability?
With the No. 4 Crimson Tide rolling into Rupp Arena on Saturday, it would be an excellent time for the Dayton transfer to get back to his old ways.
You can count on Coach Pope to emphasize Brea in his game plan.
It’s clear that Kentucky is the best version of itself when opposing defenses are forced to guard the 3-point line with every resource they have.
On the bright side, fellow shooter Jaxson Robinson has made it easier to overcome Brea’s slump by lighting it up from outside himself. Robinson is averaging nearly 25 points per game in his last two contests, both wins.
I personally wouldn’t worry too much about Brea and his struggles over the last three games. His consistency shooting the ball has been proven over the course of several seasons.
If I were Alabama, I’d be nervous that a sleeping giant might wake up on Saturday inside Rupp Arena.
