Kentucky guard Rob Dillingham declared for the 2024 NBA Draft.
Dillingham announced his decision Tuesday on ESPN’s NBA Today. He signed with Klutch Sports Group, who welcomed him to their clientele.
“This was a decision I made with my family,” Dillingham told ESPN’s Jonathan Givony on Monday. “I felt prepared. Coach [John] Calipari taught me a lot about how to be a better teammate and that it was not all about me.”
A top recruit out of high school, Dillingham averaged 15.2 points and 3.9 assists per game during his freshman season at Kentucky. The SEC Sixth Man of the Year made 44.4 percent of his three-pointers.
ESPN ranks Dillingham as the No. 4 overall prospect in this year’s draft class. The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor likened the guard to Lou Williams as an “electric bucket-getter who is starting to develop as a playmaker.”
Givony wrote that Dillingham possesses “arguably the most star power of any prospect in this draft class.” The 19-year-old will likely be a lottery pick this June, but Dillingham isn’t too concerned about his draft placement.
“It doesn’t matter what pick I am, if I get picked 60th. I want to go to a team that trusts me and can help me build, and I can build with them and make me better,” Dillingham told Givony. “I just want to help my team win, and they can develop me and teach me things. Anyone can be special if they put their mind toward it. Just have confidence. It’s about what you put your mind into.”
