It is not often you hear about an indoor sporting event getting canceled due to bad weather, but it is 2025 and things are kind of weird. The Kentucky volleyball team was set to host Ohio this afternoon, but because of the severe flooding, the Bobcats will not be able to safely make the trip to Lexington, thus cancelling the match.
These are the same floods that also cancelled Thunder Over Louisville and, more importantly, wreaked havoc on communities across the Commonwealth and its neighboring states.
In place of the game, the volleyball team will hold an intrasquad Blue/White scrimmage at Historic Memorial Coliseum. Even better, they will conduct post-match autographs and photos with players and coaches. This fan-friendly event was already scheduled, and the team did not want to let Big Blue Nation down by nixing this session too. It will be a great opportunity for you to get an up-close look at the team.
It’s spring Volleyball madness!
